What is PPI?
PPI (pixels per inch) is the diagonal pixel count divided by the diagonal in inches: PPI = √(width² + height²) / diagonal. Higher PPI means a sharper, denser image.
What is pixel pitch?
Pixel pitch is the physical distance between the centers of two adjacent pixels, in millimetres: pitch = 25.4 / PPI. A smaller pitch means finer detail.
Is higher PPI always better?
Not necessarily — above roughly 110–140 PPI at normal desk distance the extra sharpness becomes hard to perceive, so it's a diminishing-returns trade-off against cost and GPU load.
